We are pass the halfway point of the elimination round!
#13. Macau - I do not understand why Macau did not change their import. Maybe, they do not have the financial capacity that we expect them to have.
#12. Blackwater - Upshaw is an entertaining import but the guy is a big liability on perimeter defense and now Panopio is injured.
#11. Terrafirma - Ahanmisi is currently the top scoring local at 22.9 points per game. Unfortunately, he is not receiving enough local support.
#10. Titan - Individual-wise, Gilmore and Munzon are easily a top 15 defender in the league. But as a team, Titan is giving up the 4th most points per game.
#9. Converge - Converge chose Kelley for his defense but they are currently #7 in terms of opponent points per game. That is not what they anticipated to happen. It does not help that their chemistry is really bad right now.
#8. NLEX - I know that they have the 2nd best record right now as they are really efficient by being #3 in FG% and #4 in 3FG%. The problem is, they just do not have enough size in my eyes to get my trust in the playoffs.
#7. Phoenix - The system of Phoenix is really different now as Jason Perkins is just averaging 0.8 assists per game. I am not sure this is the right way to do it.
#6. Meralco - The Bolts have the right roster to win the championship. I am not sure though if they have the right import.
#5. Magnolia - For Magnolia, it is a matter of my distrust on LA Tenorio making the right adjustments in the playoffs. They may also need an upgrade in their frontline.
#4. Rain or Shine - There are a lot of fans who already believe that Rain or Shine has what it takes to win the championship. I am not yet there. The Playoffs is just a different beast and I have not seen enough from them to change that opinion.
#3. Ginebra - They can win the championship but I cannot put them at the top 2 knowing how strong the Beermen and Tropang Giga are. Still, if the frontline of Ginebra is healthy, they have a legit chance.
#2. TNT - Bol Bol is arguably the most dominant import that the league has seen in a while. His dominance is just eye-popping. But in the playoffs, where physicality is even higher, can he really survive?
#1. San Miguel - Boatwright is still him. The guy delivered 41 points and 11 rebounds in his debut game in this tournament.
