It was a great victory by Gilas Pilipinas as they survived Jordan with a 72-71 final score. Kevin Quiambao and Kai Sotto delivered na killing blows. While CJ Perez kept us on the game.
Now, here is our takes per player and our grade!
Our grading system will be from A to F with A as the highest, D as the average, and F as the lowest!
N/A: Troy Rosario - He did not play but we know that he is vital in their practices!
C: Justine Baltazar - It was not shocking that he did not get that much minutes because they do not have a spacing center.
E: Junemar Fajardo - Unfortunately, Fajardo and Kai cannot play together. The defense do not work because Fajardo's foot speed is really far away from the level of AJ Edu.
B: Carl Tamayo - I feel like this was the Gilas game that coach Tim has given him more scoring responsibility. Unfortunately, that incident happened.
B: Juan Gomez de Liano - Juan was obviously our best facilitator. Let us hope his three-point shot will be there against Iran.
B: Scottie Thompson - Scottie was our main perimeter stopper in this game. Unfortunately, the size disadvantage did showed up.
C: Dwight Ramos - Ramos is as stable as you can get. He is the Gabe Norwood of this era of Gilas. You should never bet that he will have a bad game.
B: CJ Perez - Perez kept us on that game. This is his role for Gilas. He is our heat-check guy off-the-bench and in this game, he was fucking hot! I am not just sure why the referees did not want to give him more leeway in terms of foul-calling.
A: AJ Edu - Edu is just the perfect partner to Kai until we find that other bigman who can really snipe from the outside. His defense and focus on his role is really amazing.
B: Kevin Quiambao - What makes Kevin special is his PUSO! He has that Brownlee-genes in hitting clutch shots and for this game, he even did it on defense!
A: Kai Sotto - Kai was amazing. Yes, his free-throw shooting was horrendous but I think he deterred more than 10 rim-shots by Jordan and he was working really hard on both ends of the court!
