Coach Tim Cone and his Gilas squad accomplish the goals for this FIBA Qualifying Window. They won the two games and they are building something sustainable with their defense.
N/A: Troy Rosario / Justin arana / Justin Baltazar - They did not play but I am pretty sure that they have a big part in the preparation of the team.
A: Junemar Fajardo - I expected to see him again in the 2nd half but coach Tim Cone made his call and Fajardo delivered what was asked of him.
E: Chris Newsome - Committing 3 fouls in 7 minutes was all you need to know about the play of Chris. He was still fine overall.
D: CJ Perez - Perez' role in Gilas is clear. Coach Tim Cone will give him a chance to see if he is on rhythm for the game and if he is not, he will have limited minutes just like in this game.
B: Juan Gomez de Liano - Juan is the main facilitator of the team and also their main pull-up shooter. He did those role at a high level in this game.
E: Scottie Thompson - Thompson was well-scouted by Iran on offense and even his good defense is not enough to salvage a good game.
C: Kevin Quiambao - Kevin is our main do-it-all wingman. His defense was fine but his offense was lethargic in this game. Overall, still a positive game for KQ.
A: Dwight Ramos - This is easily the Dwight Ramos game. That two free-throws plus steal plus long bomb is a good representation of what he brings to Gilas. It is stability, defense and scoring.
A: AJ Edu - The defense of Edu is now being evaluated as the best defense that we have ever seen in a Gilas uniform. His offense is also looking good with better chemistry developing with his teammates.
C: Kai Sotto - Kai has lesser effort in this game compared to the Jordan game. Overall though, Gilas is still his team when he is on the floor. The defense of the opponent is about him and the offense of the opponent is about avoiding him.
