But if TNT did indeed sign him to an official roster spot, it forces an immediate and uncomfortable question: who is the player that they cut? The PBA enforces strict roster limits, meaning the addition of a local free agent requires someone currently holding a spot on the defending Governors’ Cup champions' bench to be relegated to the unrestricted free agent pool.

If Ambohot is officially on board, he is entering a high-pressure situation with a rapidly ticking clock. While TNT is historically patient when developing young players—especially big men who need time to adjust to the professional game—Ambohot no longer fits that demographic. He is not a young prospect anymore, and he is stepping into a win-now rotation built around immediate title contention. He needs to show his worth right away. If he fails to immediately prove he can defend the paint, stretch the floor, and execute within the system, he will undoubtedly be cut and sent right back to the waiver wire.
