Here is our updated mock draft with a second round!
ROUND 1
1 DYIP Deschon Winston - There is no guarantee that Winston will enter this upcoming PBA draft but if he does, he is clearly the guy. Unfortunately, what transpired in DLSU could dissuade him from continuing to play in the country.
2 BWE One of Paras/Thirdy/Ramos/Baltazar - I have not gotten any information that will end my expectation that one of this big four names will join the upcoming draft. My biggest bet now will be Justine Baltazar.
3 ROS Luis Villegas - I am pretty sure that it was a music to the ears of the PBA teams that Luis wants to continue playing in the country. Luis is a special talent for a bigman and he is an excellent fit with Rain or Shine.
4 ROS Sedrick Barefield - He is a free agent again. I really feel that the PBA is still his target. I just hope the PBA will not create another reason for him not to join.
5 NOR Juan Gomez de Liano - His name could be enough for him to be one of the top 5 pick of this draft. Add the possibility of a Bolick departure and this pick make sense.
6 MER Will Gozum - Charles Tiu, the coach of St. Benilde, is currently an assistant for the Meralco Bols. With that connection, I am pretty sure Meralco will target Gozum.
7 PHX Keith Datu - Phoenix should target a center. Datu is the most intriguing one for me because he moves like a wing and he can even pull-up from deep.
8 BWE Zavier Lucero - I understand that Zavier just suffered an ACL injury but the guy's potential is too high for him to fall any further. Lucero can be the understudy of Troy Rosario.
9 NLEX James Kwekuteye - Knowing the connection of San Beda to the MVP group, it is easy to expect the NLEX Road Warriors to target the top scorer of the Red Lions.
10 NOR Caelan Tiongson - Assuming that Ginebra wants him. I do not think they will take the risk of waiting for him the second round. So, they can talk to Northport and grab him at this point!
11 DYIP Brandon Bates - It will be hard for Terrafirma to say no to a 6'8 giant like Bates at this point. He plays traditionally but his footwork is better than expected and he is quite strong.
12 MAG Ricci Rivero - Magnolia franchise is the home of good-looking players, right? Rivero then should be a viable target for them if they want to bring back that vibe!
