The 2024 PBA draft is very entertaining and even after a week from it, things are happening because of it. There are also some controversies.
Now, it is time for us to name the biggest losers. We already tackled the biggest winners in an earlier article.
#5. Rain or Shine point guards
Andrei Caracut, Anton Asistio and Adrian Nocum delivered the goodies last season. Unfortunately, the supply of amazing guards is just too deep that they better continue improving. Felix Lemetti was signed to a maximum rookie contract. It speaks a lot about the confidence of Rain or Shine towards him.
#4.TNT
Snow Badua revealed that the 3rd round pick of TNT, Jared Brown, wanted a rich contract. So, TNT may end up not getting anything from a good draft.
#3. Avan Nava
It is a good thing that he was drafted in the first round. But to be drafted in San Miguel with their loaded guard rotation is a bad news for a Filipino-Foreigner player that needs to prove himself right away to get a long leash in the league.
#2. Northport
First, their decision to go with Dave Ildefonso when they badly need a point guard and a bigman has a good chance of back-firing. Second, Kai Ballungay was almost there for them. They are just a pick shy.
#1. Terrafirma
Choosing Mark Nonoy over CJ Cansino is questionable. Trading their future 2nd round pick for draftees that are not worth the value of their 2nd round pick is bad.
