Following the horrific, season-ending leg injury to DeQuan Jones during Tuesday's game, the NLEX front office has been thrust into an emergency import search. Head coach Jimmy Alapag is facing a severe time crunch. The team has until Thursday noon to submit a replacement name to the PBA, or they will be forced to play an all-Filipino lineup on Friday against the Converge FiberXers—their final assignment before the league takes a break for Gilas Pilipinas.

He recently wrapped up a stint in the Venezuelan league, where he posted solid, if unspectacular, numbers: 15.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, while shooting 32% from beyond the arc.
While those figures might not scream "dominant," Henry's greatest asset is his ability to blend into a system. He does not demand the ball on every possession, and he has a proven track record of building excellent chemistry with his teammates. For an NLEX squad that currently relies heavily on the playmaking and high usage of local star Robert Bolick, a stabilizing, high-IQ team player like Henry might be the exact puzzle piece needed to keep the offensive flow intact.
Option 2: The Shocking Pivot – Jamaal Franklin
If the Road Warriors want to swing for the fences and inject sheer scoring volume into the lineup, there is a fascinating wild card sitting in the free agency pool right now: Jamaal Franklin.
The idea of signing Franklin is undeniably shocking, considering he was just let go by the Converge FiberXers. But look closely at the raw production. Despite being replaced, Franklin was still stuffing the stat sheet, averaging a massive 27.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 45% from the field.
He is an absolute offensive juggernaut who can take over games by himself. There is an added layer of narrative drama here, too. NLEX's next opponent on Friday? The Converge FiberXers. Imagine the psychological and tactical advantage of fielding the very import Converge just discarded.
However, there is a catch. Franklin's volume-heavy, isolation style could disrupt the fluid local chemistry that NLEX has built during their blistering start to the conference. It is a high-risk, high-reward scenario.
