The PBA internet just experienced a massive seismic shift. The popular X account "Inside the PBA" suddenly returned to the platform and immediately dropped a bombshell: "Hearing from sources that SGA is now the financial backer of Titan Ultra." The account added that Titan Ultra had been quietly struggling to meet the team's payroll.
Almost immediately after that post went live, reports from Spin.ph and other outlets confirmed that Titan Ultra is taking its franchise star off the trade block.
The Joshua Munzon Extension
Titan Ultra team manager Barbie Arsolon explicitly stated, "No trade," and confirmed the front office is actively preparing a contract extension for the veteran forward.
Munzon, who averaged 15.0 points in his first eight games this conference, had been the subject of heavy, ongoing trade talks with TNT Tropang Giga.
The 29-year-old forward was widely rumored to be on the trading block specifically because of Titan's underlying financial struggles.
With new financial backing allegedly secured, Titan is no longer forced into a corner to sell off their best two-way player.
The SGA Factor
A Massive Win for PBA Parity This is unequivocally fantastic news for the PBA universe. Fans have been begging for stronger independent teams that can legitimately challenge the established corporate giants. A financially secure Titan Ultra—armed with a locked-in Joshua Munzon and backed by SGA's winning culture—means elite talent remains spread across the league instead of being consolidated onto a single heavyweight roster. If these reports hold true, the days of Titan Ultra acting as a financial clearinghouse for superstars are officially over.
